Cuadro de George Dunlop Leslie

George Dunlop Leslie (1835-1921)
George made steady progress in his career as a painter, becoming an RA in 1876, shortly after which he relocated to the countryside, first to Oxfordshire and then to Sussex.
He is best known today as painter of landscapes and genre scenes. Leslie specialized in girls engaged in domestic tasks and at play, painted in bright clear colours. The immediate impression is that his pictures are straight-down-the-middle Victorian genre, but the workmanship is excellent and many of his colour harmonies and compositions are worth a closer look.
